Manes and Miracles Youth Advisory Board
We're helping shape future leaders as they help shape the future of Manes and Miracles!
Youth Advisory Board(YAB) Members consist of high school students in grades 9-12 who want to make a difference in their community. Over the course of the school year and with the guidance of Manes and Miracles mentors, YAB members develop leadership skills and build friendships as they support the mission of Manes and Miracles through volunteering, fundraising, and event planning.
General Timeline
Applications accepted until Mid-August | Interviews occur mid to late August | First meeting mid-September
Plan and/or help with 3-4 events throughout the year | Wrap up commitment at the end of August
Join us for our End of Season Celebration mid- May!
YAB Members Will...
- Collaborate with youth across the East Valley to share ideas and represent the voice of local youth
- Learn how to plan and throw fun community events and fundraisers
- Earn community service hours towards graduation, NHS requirements, and the President's Volunteer Service Award
- Gain leadership experience for college and career readiness
- Earn swag, recognition, prizes, and a Certificate of Appreciation for your service
- Be eligible to request a letter of recommendation for college or career applications
- Connect with the kids we serve, the animals who serve, and with our mission of bringing hope, happiness, and healing with horses!
YAB Commitment
- Attend monthly meetings
- Volunteer at the Ranch 5x
- Participate in fundraisers and events throughout the year
- Join a committee (Fundraising, Marketing, or Events)
- Communicate consistently to help you, your peers, your committee, and the YAB succeed
- Bring a positive attitude, creative thinking, and an excitement to build something wonderful with together!
Adult Mentor Openings!
Each year, 2-3 adult mentors assist in teaching and supporting the young men and women of the YAB, equipping them with the tools they need to develop their leadership skills and find success in their time with us.
Interested? Email Lindsey@manesandmiraclesaz.org with an introduction letter or resume. Please include any experience you have in fundraising, mentorship, leadership training, or events (not required, but preferred).
